This brings new meaning to orange and lemon Squash as Chinese Authorities Crush 20 Tonnes (Around 2,000 crates) of imported fruit due to incorrect paperwork, as reported in China News.

The whole consignment was destroyed on March 15^th as it was designated illegal and failed to pass quarantine inspections and was reported to be infested with fruit flies so had to be destroyed to stop infecting local farms and produce,

The Shipment with a value of approximately €14,000 was tipped in to landfill after being treated with quicklime and buried.

Over €3million worth of citrus fruit were exported to China last year.
